Strength

Today, one of my coworker got sick. Her chest was attacked by sudden pain, triggered by a shocking news, something that she couldn’t bear. She couldn’t barely understand about the things going on for the past few months. Whenever she wanted to make a move, she began to doubt it. She thought that she couldn’t tell which one is good for her. Every step would lead to a different, unbearable situation.

She is a cheerful person. Her smile stays on her face. However, these days, she must encounter her breakdown. We couldn’t see the same smile anymore. I don’t know, maybe this is the lowest point in her life, but that’s not what I want to talk about.

She frequently sent me a message. Started from the first day we went back to work at the office, she made time to share her worries with me. She never stopped asking for support until today.

I see her as a strong person, but she isn’t strong by herself.

Today, the dusk came too fast. We got an urgent call. We rushed to the room and found out that her body was very weak. Her legs weren’t strong enough to walk. We carried her body together until we found a chair for her to rest. We helped her by contacting her husband. She kept telling us: “it’s very painful on my chest.” What a gloomy, tense evening. After a while, her husband finally came to pick her up. He embraced her shoulder, then carried her to his motorcycle.

Seeing so many support coming for her, I was stuck by melancholy once more. A very touching scenery.

I don’t know how a person can rely on someone so much. I don’t know how a person can trust someone a lot. I can’t imagine how much bravery is needed to be able to honestly say from the bottom of the heart: “I need you.”

I need you to be here. I need your support. I need you in my life.

That must be pretty hard, but that’s what makes her strong.

Cheer up dear. We support you. I believe you’re a strong person.
